Mark stuck around after church on Easter Sunday for over 30 minutes and just sat in the pew. He got up to leave, as most everyone had left the church and Peter approached him on the way out of church. They had never met before. Peter said "Hi" and asked Mark what he was thinking ... Mark said ... as he often does ... "A lot."
Peter went onto share with Mark how he felt the Holy Spirit leading him to connect. :-) Peter and Mark both seemed to enjoy the conversation and Peter said he would like to connect again to get to know one another. Mark laughed and said "Are you sure?" Mark gave Peter his number and Peter actually followed through which Mark was impressed with. Mark's not saying that all Christians never follow through as that's not the case. Do most Christians not follow through, most of the time? If you asked Mark that question, he would probably laugh and say "Not sure? Not God?"
Mark was impressed with Peter as very few Christians seem to hear from the Holy Spirit and even less seem to follow through. Mark was even more impressed that Peter was fine with recording the conversation. Most Christians, it seems to Mark that they struggle with a lot of fear and don't even know it. Most Christians, it seems, maybe don't work so hard at learning to consider things, outside of their comfort zones?
But ... going outside of our comfort zone is actually what is required for 'faith' and "Without faith it's impossible to please God? It would seem that those who are the most devout Christians and pastors would want to please God a lot which would seem to require to doing things we aren't comfortable with ... i.e. having faith? Interesting!?!? :-)
